L2 Scaling

XRPChain is designed as a Layer 2 blockchain that runs on top of the XRP Ledger, built to bring smart contracts, programmability, and modular scaling to a network that was originally optimized for speed and low fees. While XRP remains one of the most efficient base layers in crypto, it lacks the flexibility needed for modern decentralized applications. XRPChain bridges that gap.

As a Layer 2, XRPChain operates in parallel to the XRPL, offloading execution and computation while relying on the base layer for settlement and asset finality. This structure allows for greater scalability without altering the XRP protocol itself. It introduces:

  • Smart contract capabilities (via WASM, Hooks, or custom scripting)

  • Custom token creation and programmable assets

  • App-specific rollups and execution environments

  • Bridges using standards like XLS-38d for XRPL compatibility

  • Interoperability with Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, and Bitcoin

What does this unlock?

  • dApps, DeFi, NFTs, and DAO infrastructure built around XRP

  • Staking, mining modules, and yield-generating protocols

  • On-chain automation through AI tools and smart triggers

  • Fast and low-cost cross-chain swaps

Developers can build freely without being limited by XRPL’s conservative design. Users benefit from the reliability and speed of XRP while gaining access to new tools, interfaces, and economic models. And because the XRPL handles finality, all assets and settlements are verifiable and trust-minimized.

This dual-layer approach means XRPChain doesn’t replace XRP, it expands it. It keeps the core lean, fast, and secure while opening new ground for innovation. In short, XRPChain brings the missing layer of programmability to the XRP ecosystem without compromising its foundation.
